The Whatcom Sports Commission is proud to sponsor the 19th Annual Baker Blast Tournament in Bellingham, Washington. This tournament focuses on bringing in boys' and girls' teams throughout the West to the Northwest Soccer Park for some great soccer! The Baker Blast has a superb history of providing high level boys' and girls' competition, and has a reputation of being a well-organized, first class tournament.

FREE PARKING! The Baker Blast will be offering FREE RV Camping on a first come-first serve basis beginning on Friday morning(6/26). RV camping is only in the areas designated on the field map. Please see refer to the field map for the RV Camping section. We kindly request you park so as to best accomodate other campers or you may be asked to re-park to accomodate others. Thank you!

Tournament Location: Northwest Soccer Park, 5238 Northwest Drive, Bellingham WA and Meridian High School.   Northwest Soccer Park is one of the finest soccer complexes in the Northwest, featuring a fully equipped concession building and restroom facility, 31 acres of lush green grass, and a breathtaking view of Mt. Baker.  The Northwest Soccer Park is located in Northwest Washington State, just 10 minutes from downtown Bellingham and 20 minutes from the Canadian boarder. Meridian HS, located 4 minutes away from Northwest Soccer Park will have 4 or 5 high quality grass fields which may be used in the event of the number of teams applied. This region offers spectacular sightseeing opportunities from the mountains to the sea. Hotels, shopping and entertainment are only minutes away.

1.  Complete the writeable PDF 2009 Baker Blast Registration Form and print this out. 

2.  Send your registration form along with your fee of $450-Please pay using check, money order or cashier's check in US Funds--WE DO ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS FOR A FEE OF $15.
3.  Mail in registration, payment and a typed completed roster using the Baker Blast roster form or WSYSA's Bonzi for that  lists players names, birth dates, jersey numbers, indicate guest players (limit of 7) Due by June 5, 2009 to Baker Blast Tournament, 1225 Civic Field Way, Bellingham, WA  98229
4.  Application is not complete until registration form, payment and roster are received at the tournament office.

Please note: Out of Washington state teams are required to obtain appropriate travel papers from state or provincial associaton.

A completed tournament application form along with the entry fee and tentative team roster must be postmarked no later than May 30th. We will continue to accept applications after the deadline date if there is space available, otherwise your check will be returned and you will be placed on a waiting list. 

Team Selection:  The Baker Blast is a select/premier level tournament accepting teams on a "first completed registration, first serve" basis.  Please be advised that certain divisions may fill up prior to the deadline date. You are not considered registered until your registration form, payment and roster are received at the tournament office.

Format:  Teams will play in a four team matrix whenever possible and be guaranteed at least three-60 minute games. U11 teams will play 9 a-side on a 50 yd x 90yd field. U12-19 will play 11 a-side on full size fields. We reserve the right to combine or modify age divisions should the need arise to balance competition.

Awards:  1st and 2nd place winners in each division will receive individual awards and one team award. All rostered players and coaches will receive tournament memento.

Entry Fee: $450.00 US funds and MUST accompany an application form and tentative team roster. Checks or money orders should be made payable to "W.S.C." Entry fee acceptance  made afterJune 5, 2009will be on a as team need basis.  Applications will not be accepted without fees.

Acceptance:   You will receive an e-mail notice of your squads acceptance.

Schedules: We anticipate schedules to be mailed out to you no later then June 10, 2009. We try to accommodate all requests for late games on Friday. However, this is not always possible. Please be prepared to play an early game on Friday. All teams are scheduled to play ONE GAME ON FRIDAY and two games on Saturday. Semifinal and finals will be played on Sunday.

Withdrawing from the Tournament: After May 16th, teams wishing to withdraw from the tournament must notify us in writing. There will be no refunds issued for teams withdrawing after May 30th Prior to May 30th, teams wishing to withdraw must notify us in writing; refunds will be issued less a $35.00 handling fee.
